HUNDREDS of Year 5 and 6 pupils were given a taste of life at Pleckgate through a series of workshops.
Events were held over several days and saw the pupils from six feeder primary schools taking part in science experiments linked to ICT, a history lesson on the First World War and various sporting activities.
Assistant Headteacher Miss Lippitt said: “It was lovely to welcome the primary school pupils to Pleckgate so they could experience our facilities. We have had nearly 300 pupils attend.
“We will also be running a summer school when we will welcome some of our new Year 7s into school during the last two weeks of August.
“We will be having a range of activities from performing arts, science, ICT and sports.
“There will also be different people coming into school to run team building challenges and activities. This helps the pupils’ transition to high school and makes them better able to succeed at Pleckgate when they start here in September.”
