- January staggered start:
- Year 11, critical worker children and vulnerable students to attend from Tuesday 5th January.
- Year 7-10 from Monday 11th January.
Late on Thursday afternoon, we were informed that the government has instructed secondary schools to stagger the start of next term. The purpose of this is outlined in the government press release: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/staggered-rollout-of-coronavirus-testing-for-secondary-schools-and-colleges
This means that Year 11 students will start the term as normal on Tuesday 5th January and will sit their GCSE mock examinations as planned. As a reminder, all year 11 students must bring a packed lunch for the first two weeks. In addition, children whose parents are critical workers can also attend school. Students with an education health care plan for Educational Special Needs and Disabilities and those with a social worker (known as ‘vulnerable students’), should attend school from 5th January.
