The Year Seven students at Pleckgate received their mini iPads as the school continues to make giant strides.
The Blackburn school celebrated their best ever GCSE results in 2015 with a 58% pass rate on five or more A*-Cs, including English and maths.
And new head teacher Mark Cocker is determined to build on this as the new intake at Pleckgate embrace technology.
The students collected their iPads at a special evening at the Blackburn school and are now ready to complement their learning with technology to help them achieve even more.
“I am really excited to have my own iPad,” said one pupil Khizar Choudry. “I can’t wait to use it.”
Mr Cocker took over the at Pleckgate after the Christmas break and is relishing his first role as a head teacher.
“I am loving it,” said Mr Cocker, who trained as a wrestler and has competed in the 2002 and 2010 Commonwealth Games for Team GB.
“I am proud to be head teacher at Pleckgate and there is a strong group of dedicated and committed staff here who are willing to go that extra mile while the students are all keen to learn.
“The school enjoyed their best ever GCSE results last year and we want to improve on this with even better results in the future. It’s a really exciting time to be at Pleckgate.”
