Once again Pleckgates pupils have enjoyed a full week of outdoor pursuits events this year. This included residential trips and daily activities inluding abseiling, the chill factor, rock climbing, ice skating, canoeing, orienteering and so much more. This valuable week in the school calendar once again recieved fantastic feedback from all pupils involved.

As we enter the summer term packed with rounders, athletics and cricket, Pleckgate can reflect on a year with notable achievements from numerous pupils and teams. The year 11 girls netball team finished 3rd of overall in the Blackburn with Darwen tournament playing some fantastic netball along the way. This was followed by the year 11 football team making history this year reaching the Semi finals of the lancashire cup, a feat unequalled by any team in Pleckgate history. The team also reached the Blackburn and Darwen play off semi final and lost on penalties in the semi final of the league cup. The PE staff feel that the hard work put in from the pupils over their years at Pleckgate has seen them develop into competitive teams and the hope is that they will continue to play and fly the flag for Pleckgate after leaving school. Following this success, the year 9 football team also had another fantastic year reaching the league cup final and finishing runners up after winning North League. We look forward to continued success from this team in the future.
